Greetings!

I am honored to serve as the Director of Finance & Budget for a second term.  As a Member of SISTUHS, Incorporated, I have learned much about myself and what it means to have a true commitment to service. Over the years I have developed an admiration for this organization’s legacy and our emphasis on positive character through Substance, sisterhood and service. Hence, the opportunity to serve as a board member allows me to contribute my resources and skills as well as grow in a synergistic environment for leadership, productivity and collective self-actualization. By being surrounded by those of like mind and goals as myself, I anticipate an experience of true sisterhood of women resulting in the uplifting ourselves as well as others through the initiatives set out by SISTUHS Incorporated.

Why you joined SISTUHS - I joined SISTUHS, Inc. because I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to have a special bond with other educated black women that were interested in serving their community and helping themselves to succeed in life. Since the beginning, I loved the members of the organization, what the organization stands for, and just organization itself. I was actually introduced to SISTUHS, Inc. by a member of Progressive Black Men who informed me of this group of dynamic women. He told me that it is a must that I join and am I so glad that I did. SISTUHS, Inc. has given me the STRENGTH that I needed to move forward with my life; the courage to take the INITIATIVE and stop waiting for things to come to me; assisted me in taking my SPIRITUALITY to higher levels; embraced my TENACIOUS nature; shown me the positive effects of UNITY; and constantly reminds me that SUBSTANCE is a key element to womanhood.

Community Involvement - Tampa, FL Professional Chapter of SISTUHS, Inc., Little SISTUHS Coordinator, Take Stock in Children Hillsborough Education Foundation Mentor

Education - B.S. in Applied Economics (Business Minor), 2006; M.B.A. (Non-Profit Management Certification), 2010

Affiliations - Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity, The Rowe Taylor Jr. Foundation, Mitchell Education Resources Group Endeavor, Inc. (MERGE, Inc.)

Goals for Term - My goal is to ensure that SISTUHS, Inc. operates in the most cost efficient manner and keep the organization fiscally sound. I plan to lay the groundwork for financial stability and facilitate the growth of the organization in order to establish ourselves in various areas to meet the needs of our respective communities.
